Faust developed the Hydrodissection Technique, published in the American Intraocular Implant Society Journal in the winter of 1984. ![]() Faust resigned from the Navy as a Commander, and began his civilian ophthalmology practice in 1971. MACV (Vietnam), Environmental Research (Bethesda, MD), Ophthalmology Residency and Lancaster Course (San Diego, CA), Naval Hospital Ophthalmology Department and Chief of Ophthalmology Department (Pensacola, FL). Faust completed Airborne School at Fort Bragg, NC, and was subsequently assigned as the medical officer for UDT 21 and 22 and the Seal Team 2. After serving his internship at Los Angeles County Hospital, he completed the Submarine Medical Officers Course and the Diving Medical Officers Course at the Deep Sea Diving School in Washington, D.C. In 1962, he married his loving wife, Bettie Landers. Following Lehigh, he earned his doctorate degree at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1959. He was captain of the Lehigh varsity wrestling team, where he wrestled for four years. Faust attended Lehigh University from 1951-1955, serving as a class officer three years. While in high school, he was a two-time Pennsylvania State Wrestling Champion, Middle Atlantic States AAU Champion, co-captain of the wrestling and football teams and a class officer.
